Red, White, and Blue

I am finally not feeling entirely exhausted from all the festivities July has had to offer so far.  The fun began with the local Martindale 4th of July parade.  We are talking good old fashion fun here people.  Anyone can be in it, just show up, grab a flag and go!  Matt had to work on the 4th, so Ellie and I joined some friends and their two girls.  We had a wagon full of adorable patriots!

Next stop, Galveston.  The three of us headed down to Galveston on Thursday morning for 24 hrs of beach family fun.  I know what your thinking.  Texas beaches, yuck! Not here folks, it was beautiful!
We actually stayed on the marsh side of the island.  Loved everything about it.  I had a feeling Ellie would like the ocean.  She has never met any water she hasn't loved, but it was even better than I imagined.  The child squealed with excitement the entire time! Made for one happy mama!! You see, I am obsessed with all things water.  The thought of having a child that doesn't feel the same...well that just cant happen.  Lucky for me, it hasn't.

Actually, the best part of the trip was getting to watch the littles play.  I could listen to cousin Frank say baby over and over and over again.  So cute it hurts! I had no idea that little boys would be so interested in a baby girl, but oh were they.  They wanted to be a part of everything she did, which of course she loved.  Me too, I must say.  I hope to make this a yearly tradition.
